A wonderful summer drive and picnic to the remote village of Akitio, due East of Pongaroa, but a great drive on twisty, MX-5 roads. Optional trip home via Coast Road, with wonderful views and a lot of gravel. Your choice.
Requirements / Notes: Bring a picnic lunch - there is only a small shop at the campground there, with limited options
